Special Abilities: Laguna’s abilities are that he can use a machine gun fairly well, even one-handedly. Not only that but while he isn’t a specialist, he can and has used a Gunblade. Normally, he can also use magic given that there are Draw points or monsters around to Draw the magic from.

Personality: Laguna is often described as an energetic young man, cheerful and bubbly and a big heart. He often always smiling or looking sheepish, no doubt for doing something as equally dorky or clumsy as himself, is often times the one his friends look to for leadership and support. He is a natural born leader but he hates fighting. He only joined the Galbadian Army to not only travel the world but to help people. His best friends, Kiros Seagill and Ward Zabac, are probably the only people who really understand him. They often tease him for his recklessness but they ultimately rely on him. His reckless nature comes from the fact that he often known for coming up with answers on the fly. Either by action or verbally. For example, he even threw his friends off a cliff because there was seemingly no other way to get down when he was the only one standing and his friends were wounded severely. Let it be noted that he ended up falling of said cliff himself.

Nonetheless, he is a courageous man and will always help a friend in need (even a Moomba!), despite the danger. However, he will become hesitant when the danger he is in truly sinks in. But he will help no matter what. It’s just who he is. There is no ifs, ands, or buts, he will help those in need. Especially his friends and family.

Let it also be known that despite his dorky and clumsy attitude and appearance, his strength at being a respected leader does and will come through for him. He is the President of Esthar, an advanced technological city in isolation and while he only became president due to the fact that he stopped the Sorceress Adel’s tyrannical reign and sealed her up in space, he also becomes a damn good president. He’s a kind hearted man, but he isn’t a pushover.

Laguna’s weakness lies in that his heart is just too damn big. If one were to look at his heart (metaphorically, of course), they wouldn’t see a perfectly healthy organ. They would see one giant scar down the middle, quite possibly splitting it in two. That’s because his heart was broken when Raine died while he was away, saving their adopted daughter. He wasn’t there for neither the birthing of his son (of which he had no idea even exists) nor her death after. His upbeat and cheerful personality does well to hide this. He isn’t hurt easily, but he does like to give people that benefit of the doubt. He’s a very nice man, to the point of naïveté, and could be used against him.

A physical weakness that he has that he is notorious for is his leg cramps. He says it’s only when he’s around “beautiful women”. But really, it may be due to the fact that he gets nervous and it negatively affects his leg. Whether this is something all in his head or it’s in fact an old wound from day’s past is debatable.
